The Ting Tings Name New Album

The wait is over! The Ting Tings have decided on a name for the new album they've been recording in Berlin, due out later this year. 'Massage Kunst' which translates to 'Massage Art' was inspired by a massage parlor near their recording studio.

"It's Massage Art, basically ["kunst" is German for "art"]. We took a picture of that and sent it to our label, saying this is the title of the album. They went berserk."

Hello everybody,
Just wanted to say we are delighted aboutbeingnominated for a grammy. All that hard touring of the USA did usproud!Thanks to everyone that came to see us and supported us.

Wegotthe news at 5 am this morning as we got up to take a flight fromberlinto LA for some more shows out there. We got into our drivers carin adaze of gobsmacked-ness and forgot to take our bags to theairport...sowe ended up missing our flight.

We are currently back in our studio in Berlin, waiting to leave again tomorrow-hopefully more successfully ( :
Wehave been working on our album for the past 4 weeks. Cant wait to playyou some new tunes next year. I think you might like it.

The Ting Tings have announced the dates of an extensive North America tour this fall and Toronto is on their list! The dynamic duo kicked off the tour on September 15 in Seattle and will hit cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, our very own Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia before wrapping it up in New York on October 5. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 30 when The Ting Tings open for P!nk at Air Canada Center in Toronto! Tickets are available at ticketmaster.ca.

Why Berlin?

Jules and Katie recently revealed why they chose to record their next album in Berlin. They found an old jazz club that they will convert to a studio (because knocking down walls is all the rage in Berlin) and test new songs out on a crowd that Katie says isn’t completely familiar with The Tings’ work. The Ting Tings are up for Best UK Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. While most categories are voted on by viewers in the United States (they're currently in the running to be nominated for Best New Artist), Canadians are eligible to vote for “Shut Up And Let Me Go” to win this award. The Ting Ting's first Canadian performance on June 9th at the Plaza Club in Vancouver, BC was a huge success!

From 24 Hours Vancouver: "The fact that it was a Monday didn’t stop packs of young twenty-somethings from pouring into the nightclub and crowding the stage the moment the Ting Tings grabbed their attention...
