Schön zu hören, dass es bei den TING TINGS vorangeht.

Wie die Band auf ihrem Myspace Blog vermerkt, sind sie nach den Grammies stante pede nach Berlin zurückgekehrt, wo sie ja bekanntlich das neue Album aufnehmen. Und wie's scheint, ist der Fortschritt merkbar - schon sieben Songs sind aufgenommen. Und: in besagtem Myspace Blog Eintrag werden auch Clips von den Aufnahmen angekündigt.

Jules hat laut Contactmusic.com verraten, dass die Tings Tings schon sieben Tracks fürs neue Album fertig haben! Bisher ohne die Hilfe von Jay-Z:

"We're recording it ourselves at the moment. We're seven tracks in and we haven't needed anyone yet. But we have got to know Jay-Z a little bit better."

Katie würde sich auch lieber eine andere Band als Kollabo-Partner wünschen: "There is a band called the Tom Tom Club that we love and we already spoke with them. We know them now and we might do a collaboration."

Zwei Songtitel stehen auch schon fest: "Hands" und "Help".

The Tings Tings haben eine Nachricht aus dem kaaalten Berlin geschreiben – und die Grammy-Verleihung noch einmal Revue passieren lassen:

Hello,

We arrived back in Berlin today after a strange week in LA for the Grammy's. I think we dealt with the red carpet OK, normally we try to avoid them at all costs, in fact I think we have managed to get away with doing about three in our lives ( : they are the antithesis of what we want to do with 4 hours of our life.......this probably makes us terrible *pop stars*- but we trotted along with the rest of them!

It was good to be nominated and to people watch, and fun to navigate ourselves around Los Angeles for 2 days after but it was a joy to be back in Berlin with no more interruptions for our recordings. 7 songs along and it feels great to loose ourselves in ideas for writing, productions and stupid little videos. I'm going to try and keep you updated on our recordings and stupid little video's whilst here.

We have time to think again and make sense of it all xx"

Katie und Jules freuen sich laut Medienbericht total über ihre Grammy-Nominierung, wissen aber nicht so ganz, wie sie mit dem roten-Teppich-Erfolg umgehen sollen:

Jules fühlt sich schon jetzt als Sieger: “I think we’ve won by being nominated. It’s kind of humbling really.”

Katie weiß allerdings nie, was sie anziehen soll, wenn The Ting Tings über den roten Teppich laufen müssen:
"I love performing on stage and always associate stage and the studio with performance and I can do that so fearlessly, but I can’t get the idea of the red carpet as a performance.
I never know what to wear. I always end up looking like I’m going to a Christening."

Jules fügt hinzu: "Us, Hollywood, dressing up, how’s this gonna work?
We just got to find that balance — enjoying it, learning from it, and maybe getting a song out of it."

Die Grammy Awards werden am Sonntag verliehen. Die Ting Tings werden auf jeden Fall in Los Angeles vor Ort sein!

Red Carpet Lampenfieber

Ganz wohl ist den Ting Tings beim Gedanken an den Gang über den roten Teppich (wie er den Ting Tings beispielsweise auch bei den Grammy Awards bevorsteht) noch nicht.

Der Presse-Agentur Press Association haben sie verraten:
"I love performing on stage and always associate stage and the studio with performance and I can do that so fearlessly, but I can't get the idea of the red carpet as a performance."

Der Grammy ist natürlich schon was ganz besonderes, aber auf der Bühne beim Konzert sehen wir die Ting Tings noch lieber als beim "Award-in-die-Hoehe-stemmen".

The Ting Tings Name New Album

The wait is over! The Ting Tings have decided on a name for the new album they've been recording in Berlin, due out later this year. 'Massage Kunst' which translates to 'Massage Art' was inspired by a massage parlor near their recording studio.

"It's Massage Art, basically ["kunst" is German for "art"]. We took a picture of that and sent it to our label, saying this is the title of the album. They went berserk."

Jules hat dem NME verraten, wie der Nachfolger von "We Started Nothing" heißen soll – tada: "Kunst".

Er erzählte folgendes dazu:

"Just round the corner to our studio there's a massage parlour, it's called Massage Kunst. It's Massage Art, basically. We took a picture of that and sent it to our label, saying this is the title of the album. They went berserk.

We listened back to some of the demos and we thought, hold on a minute, this is sounding too much like we’re rocking out live. We bought a couple of old weird synths in New York and smuggled them in our suitcases back to Berlin and they started to come strong on the music."

Hello everybody,
Just wanted to say we are delighted aboutbeingnominated for a grammy. All that hard touring of the USA did usproud!Thanks to everyone that came to see us and supported us.

Wegotthe news at 5 am this morning as we got up to take a flight fromberlinto LA for some more shows out there. We got into our drivers carin adaze of gobsmacked-ness and forgot to take our bags to theairport...sowe ended up missing our flight.

We are currently back in our studio in Berlin, waiting to leave again tomorrow-hopefully more successfully ( :
Wehave been working on our album for the past 4 weeks. Cant wait to playyou some new tunes next year. I think you might like it.

Hello everybody,
